A stunning 35-meter sailing yacht, Sojana, has just been sold, leaving a trail of excitement and curiosity in its wake. This custom-built beauty, with its sleek lines and impressive performance, has captured the attention of many in the yachting world. But here's where it gets controversial...
Sojana, designed by the renowned Farr Yacht Design, was crafted with a unique purpose: to be the longest and fastest yacht that could be handled by its owner and friends, with minimal crew assistance. A true testament to innovation and luxury, this yacht offers an unparalleled sailing experience.
The deal was brokered by Nicolas Marchand of Bernard Gallay Yacht Brokerage, representing the seller, and Hank Halsted of Northrop & Johnson, who introduced the lucky buyer. Sojana's last asking price was a cool €3,500,000, and with its recent upgrades, it's easy to see why it attracted such interest.
In 2016, Sojana underwent a comprehensive cosmetic and technical refit, and in 2022 and 2023, further significant upgrades were made. These included the installation of a new engine, servicing of all generators, and the addition of a state-of-the-art North Sails 3Di sail wardrobe, Hall Spars carbon rigging, and a B&G H5000 electronics suite.
Sojana's racing pedigree is undeniable. It has dominated leaderboards at prestigious regattas such as the St. Barths Bucket, Antigua Sailing Week, and Palma Superyacht Cup. Under the previous ownership of the late Sir Peter Harrison, Sojana amassed an impressive record of sailing victories, solidifying its place in yachting history.
Stepping inside, Sojana's interior, designed by Ken Freivokh, exudes a traditional yet luxurious yachting ambiance. Dark mahogany wood paneling and gold-plated fittings create an elegant and timeless atmosphere.
